ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Friday said that opposition parties were not united on the terms of reference (ToRs) for the judicial commission on Panama Papers.
If the opposition parties come up with their ToRs, the government is ready to review them for the sake of a transparent inquiry into the Panama reports, he said while talking to a news channel.
Siddiqui said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was enjoying a one third majority in the parliament, adding that his name was not mentioned in the Panama Papers. He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership was doing politics of allegations and agitation on Panama Papers for point scoring. He said that names of about 200 Pakistanis were mentioned in the Panama Papers, but the opposition was targeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.
He said that some close aides of PTI chief Imran Khan were also among those who got their bank loans written off, according to the Panama papers. He said that Khan was trying to protect them from accountability.
