SRINAGAR: Radio Kashmir Srinagar went off the air yesterday in Occupied Kashmir and subsequently several programs could not be broadcasted.
According to Kashmir Media Service, this is the first time that Radio Kashmir Srinagar went off air. The incident happened exactly before a scheduled march called by the joint Hurriyet leadership to government-run radio and TV stations.
However, Radio Kashmir Srinagar Director Hamayun Kaisar said, “The Narbal transmitter of Radio Kashmir developed a technical hitch and because of that, current affairs programs including “SheharBeen”, “Gaimi Bayan Hund” and “Wadi ki Awaz” could not be aired. Efforts are in process to make the transmitter functional again.”
Interestingly, the joint resistance leadership has urged the people to block all roads to stop the employees of Radio Kashmir, Doordarshan and State Information department from appearing on duty.
